Funtimes and Awesome Sauce

Picture time! It’s Mother’s Day and so in honour of my very special Mum, I thought I’d hijack the blog again to show you all some pictures of how much fun we’ve had. It’s been a crazy first week on the outside, and picking only a few pictures to share with you was hard – there are so many good ones! I wish I could hope that you would enjoy them as much as I enjoyed being in them, but that’s just not possible. I’ve had such a blast this week. Anyway, here they are – I’m kicking my feet with excitement for you to see them!!

One of the first things they did was put me in my new bed. We were all pretty excited for the first hour or two, and they were running around making me feel as comfortable as possible. They were really quite nice about it and made me feel special. They get sloppy smiles.

OK this is WAY better than the little screen we used to watch this show on in the hospital! This thing is huge! I wasn't sure what the deal was with those other little screens but this - this!! - I get. It's...mesmerizing.

OK, the picture can't show it, because Dad's lips are moving so fast right now you can't even see it - but DAD'S LIPS ARE MOVING SO FAST RIGHT NOW!!! I don't know how he does it but I think it's the coolest thing ever.

There are so many nice things to wear outside, I love getting dressed up and going out!

We've been going for a lot of walks. I'm finally understanding what the heck Mum and Dad were talking about all this time. Even though it was a little chilly, the Seawall was a great place to go for a walk!

It's very bright out here, isn't it?

And see? Just because I'm out of the hospital doesn't mean I have to say goodbye. Nurse Awesome stopped by for a visit and made a gray rainy morning all bright. She was always so much fun, and this time she wasn't working so it was even better!

The tub they have here is way better than the one in the hospital! This one has a showerhead attachment so I can get rinsed off easily, it's pretty sweet. And it fits me just right.

Dad said the new wooden shelf on the bottom would open up some options with my stroller but I never thought he was talking about this! And yes, believe it or not, I'm in there with all my gear too. Don't worry, Mum was there as a spotter. Happy Cinquo de Mayo!

So they're teaching me how to cheer for hockey. They said I did a good job, and the Canucks won that night. A couple nights later, I slept through the game and they lost...can superstition really start this early?

This couch is pretty cool. It's a workout for me, but I can totally stand up and lean against it and check things out on my own. And it's soft, too! We didn't have anything like this at the hospital.

I love morning dressup times! Picking out something nice for the day and looking all pretty. Putting things on is so much fun! I love clothes!

Holly watches from a safe distance.

See this furry thing in the picture? I got my hand on it earlier today. It’s very soft, but my hand was hairy for like an hour afterwards. Let me give you a tip – cat hair and drool aren’t a good combination.  But besides that? I can’t complain. I’m living the life here with my two favourite Big People, and I’m really glad they brought me here. I just wish they would have been a little quicker about it…

And on another note, we would like to extend a very warm and heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day, to all of the mothers out there who are reading. Whether you’ve been one for a while and helped us through our early days, or whether you’re in your early days yourself and are here looking for your new normal, The Sunshine Brigade wishes you a happy and screamyface-free Mother’s Day.
